Pascagoula fishing guide

Pascagoula is the east end of the Mississippi coast, where the Pascagoula River meets the Mississippi Sound. Ocean Springs fishing is built around Biloxi Bay, its bayous and the US 90 bridge, while Pascagoula anglers launch at Point Park, a city park with four boat launches, two fishing piers and trailer parking for about 100 rigs, and fish the river, the city piers at Beach Park and River Park, and the open Sound. Inshore trips here target flounder, redfish, speckled trout, tripletail and sheepshead, and the bigger boats run south past Horn Island to the Liberty ship reefs and the state's offshore reef sites.

Fishing Pascagoula, asked and answered

Where can I launch a boat in Pascagoula?

Point Park at 500 Beach Blvd. is the main public launch, with four boat launches, two fishing piers and trailer parking for about 100 rigs.

Where can I fish from a pier in Pascagoula?

The city has fishing piers at Point Park, at Beach Park on City Park Street, and at River Park on Clark Street on the Pascagoula River. The city began building a new 300 foot pier at Point Park in 2024.

What do Pascagoula fishing charters target?

Inshore trips target flounder, redfish, speckled trout, tripletail and sheepshead, and flounder is the most requested fish. Some boats out of Gautier also run island and offshore trips.

When is the best time to fish Pascagoula for sheepshead?

January through March. Fish dead shrimp tight to the bridge pilings and move piling to piling until you find them; black drum and trout use the same structure in winter.

What NOAA stations should I use for Pascagoula tides and water temperature?

Use Pascagoula Point, station 8741196, for tide predictions. It has no live sensors, so check Pascagoula NOAA Lab, station 8741533, for water temperature, and NWS Mississippi Sound, GMZ532, for wind and seas.
